Who we are

A name taken from Paradise

Dar Al-Salam is one of the names of Paradise — the Abode of Peace. We teach the Qur'an, Tajweed, the Ten Qira'at and the Islamic sciences with care and precision, in an atmosphere built on sincerity and calm. Every student works one to one with a tutor who knows their level, their pace and their goal.

Our vision

To teach the Qur'an and the Islamic sciences well enough that students memorise, understand and live by the Book of Allah — and to become a global academy that carries authentic knowledge to whoever asks for it.

How we teach

One teacher, one student, one path. Lessons are live, the pace follows the student, and mastery is checked before moving on — never assumed.

Who we teach

Children, teenagers and adults, men and women, in any timezone — and above all non-native Arabic speakers who want to read their Book properly.

What we teach

Three programs, one path

Each one runs at beginner, intermediate and advanced level. Start with whichever you need — many students combine two.

Why Dar Al-Salam

What makes the difference

Elite Azhari tutors

Graduates of Al-Azhar University who studied in the Higher Institutes of Qira'at under recognised scholars, holding Ijazahs with unbroken chains of narration back to the Prophet ﷺ.

Several have placed among the top competitors internationally, and all teach in fluent English.

For everyone, everywhere

Students of all ages and backgrounds across the globe — children, adults, men and women — and especially those who do not speak Arabic at home.

Raising youth on Qur'an and Sunnah

Young students are guided through adolescence with faith intact — protected from what pulls them away, and grown into upright people who carry the light of what they have learned.

Parents stay in the loop

Regular follow-ups tell you exactly where your child stands in both memorisation and comprehension — not a grade at the end of the term, but an ongoing conversation.

A plan built around you

Mastery and understanding together, in a calm and spiritual setting — with scheduling flexible enough to survive work, school and time differences.

Certification and Ijazah

Complete your memorisation to standard and you receive an Ijazah with a strong, connected chain of narration.

Recite accurately from the Mushaf without memorising and you receive a certified Tajweed proficiency certificate from the academy.

In their words

Stories from our students

Three months ago I enrolled my seven-year-old son, and the change in his learning and his character has been remarkable. He reads the Qur'an fluently now and has started memorising it with love.

Oghadi's motherUnited Kingdom

This academy changed me a lot in a short time. In two months my recitation improved greatly and I moved up into higher-level Tajweed lessons.

Sumayyah, 20United Kingdom

I could barely recognise the Arabic letters. Now I read the Qur'an fluently with Tajweed. Ustadh Mohamed is patient, sincere and truly dedicated.

Yanis, 20United Kingdom

He taught me the Qur'an until I became fluent, when before I could not even recognise the letters. He also taught me Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir and the Seerah.

Marwan, 15United States

When my son joined he could barely recognise the letters. He has now completed Surah Al-Baqarah, reading fluently — and his manners have improved just as much.

Umm SulaymanUnited Kingdom

Disciplined, patient, precise and sincere. His way of explaining is clear and rare to find. By Allah's grace I mastered the recitation of Imam Hamzah.

Questions we're asked most

Do I need to know Arabic to start?
No. Most of our students are non-native speakers. Every tutor teaches in English, and beginners start from the letters themselves using Al-Qaidah An-Noraniah or Noor Al-Bayan.
Is the first lesson really free?
Yes. The trial session is free and carries no obligation. You meet the tutor, we assess your current level, and you decide afterwards whether to continue.
Who teaches at Dar Al-Salam Academy?
Graduates of Al-Azhar University who studied in the Higher Institutes of Qira'at under recognised scholars. They hold Ijazahs with unbroken chains of narration back to the Prophet ﷺ, and they speak fluent English.
What ages do you accept?
Children, teenagers and adults, men and women. Lesson material and pace are matched to the student's age and starting level.
Can I earn an Ijazah?
Yes. Students who complete memorisation to the required standard receive an Ijazah with a connected chain of narration. Students who recite accurately from the Mushaf without memorising receive a certified Tajweed proficiency certificate.
How much do lessons cost?
Plans start at £32 per month for one hour a week and run to £128 per month for four hours a week. Prices are shown in pounds and US dollars, and the same rate applies to all three programs.
What if the lessons are not right for me?
If it is not right for you, your fees are returned without question. Schedules are also flexible, so you can change your lesson times or move to a different weekly plan by messaging us.
Do parents receive progress reports?
Yes. Tutors follow up with parents regularly so you can see how memorisation and comprehension are developing, and raise anything you want addressed.
